Dutch short film JUNKYARD submitted to the Academy Awards 2013

Short animated film JUNKYARD was selected by an independent committee of Dutch film professionals to be submitted to the Academy Awards in the category Best Animated Short Film.

JUNKYARD is directed by Hisko Hulsing (SEVENTEEN, HARRY RENTS A ROOM) and produced by il Luster in co-production with CinéTé (Belgium). The film had its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is selected for the Ottawa International Animation Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival. JUNKYARD will also be screened in the Golden Calf Competition of the Netherlands Film Festival.

In JUNKYARD a man is being robbed and stabbed by a junkie and in that last second before he dies, a youth friendship flashes before his eyes.

On Tuesday 15 January 2013, the nominations for the Academy Awards will be announced in all categories. The Oscars ceremony will be held on Sunday February 24, 2013.
